Look for plans for a Koi pond. I’ve even seen books for this, try Amazon.com. They will tell what kind of liner, pump, slopes, depths, plants, and even fish if you are interested. You certainly can do this yourself, the hard part is digging the hole and running electricity.

Basically,.. Dig a hole, making sure all that soil you removed is put into a pile next to the hole you’re digging. Soil that is removed can be molded to be your waterfall. Make sure you wet it so it settles. Run your piping for your filter and pump for your waterfall. Pour and smooth out concrete. Let set. Coat concrete with waterproofing. Plug in your pump and run.
